Yaffy returned to the Emergency Services Show on 17–18 September 2025 at the NEC Birmingham for its second consecutive year, showcasing the next generation of concept garments for the emergency services. With over 16,000 visitors attending the show, Yaffy’s stand offered an opportunity to explore the future of protective and performance-focused uniforms.
The stand highlighted Yaffy’s innovative concept garments, including hi-vis pieces and PSU suits. Developed through months of collaboration between Design, Fabric Development, Technical Production, Commercial teams, and third-party suppliers, these garments were shaped by feedback from frontline wearers. The aim: to create uniforms that work in real-world conditions, supporting movement, operational duties, and comfort, while focusing on the needs of the wearers.
“These designs are about making a real difference for those on the frontline, ensuring comfort, mobility, and efficiency without compromising protection or professional appearance.”
– Grant Hubbard, Designer
Yaffy’s hi-vis concept garments feature a three-layer modular system with base, mid, and outer layers designed for maximum functionality and safety. Innovations include:
Integrated solar panels to power devices
LED lighting embedded within reflective tape for enhanced visibility
GPS tracking and communications system integration
Adjustable heat patches and ventilation zips
Outer layer Molle-style vest with built-in hydration, charging pockets, speakers, and removable compartments
The PSU concept designs prioritise flexibility, comfort, and protection. An all-in-one suit made from multi-functional textiles provides waterproofing, breathability, stretch, and inherent flame-retardant properties. Smart armour panels remain soft and flexible under normal conditions but harden on impact to absorb and disperse energy. An integrated zipper system allows quick donning and removal while supporting full movement and practical needs.
Alongside the concept garments, Yaffy showcased its new CFT Trouser: a market-available solution for operational requirements. Made from lightweight, breathable Twill or Ripstop fabrics, the CFT Trouser combines stretch, fit, and ergonomic design to support full mobility, comfort in fluctuating temperatures, and the practical demands of frontline work. Visitors could see and feel how decades of expertise make a real difference in performance and wearability.
